Shipping times
Where shipping times and costs come from, and why they're always estimates.
Estimates, not promises
- Shipping times come from the supplier. They are the supplier's estimates, not promises: suppliers can ship late or run out, and carriers can be slow.
- Pastefront never promises a delivery date, and the claims check keeps delivery promises out of your store's copy.
- Where a store or an email shows a delivery time, it's labelled as the supplier's estimate.
- Stores ship to US addresses only for now.
Shipping cost and the price
- When you import a CJ product, Pastefront asks CJ for a shipping quote to the US for each option, and takes the cheapest method that arrives within 20 days, or the fastest if none does.
- Shipping is included in the price buyers see. Checkout charges that price and nothing more for shipping.
- With no quote (AliExpress products, for now) the dashboard says so and never shows it as free shipping.
- Suggested prices also leave room for an import duty estimate: 30% for items from China and Hong Kong, 0% for items from US warehouses and 10% from anywhere else. It's an estimate, not a customs calculation.
Slow shipping
If the supplier's estimate for a product is over 12 days, the dashboard warns you before you build. When the shipping time isn't known, going live asks you to acknowledge that first.
