How credits work
What credits are for, what each action costs, and what happens when something fails.
The basics
- Credits pay for AI and supplier work: building a store, importing a product, a chat edit. Browsing your dashboard, previewing your store and taking orders cost no credits.
- A new account starts with 25 credits and one free store build.
- The credits are taken when the action starts. If the action fails, they come back to your balance by themselves.
- A product that Pastefront won't sell is turned away before anything is charged.
- On a team, everything a team member does on your stores is charged to your credits, the store owner's.
What each action costs
| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| Build a store from one linkYour first build is free | 40 |
| Import a product | 3 |
| One chat editPaid plans | 1 |
| An ad set (five ads)Pro and Scale | 5 |
| Start an A/B testPro and Scale | 3 |
| Four scene pictures of a productComing when switched on | 2 |
| A 5-second product videoComing when switched on | 10 |
| A 10-second store intro videoComing when switched on | 15 |
| An ad set written by SaverComing when switched on | 2 |
| A print-on-demand product in your own Printify accountComing when switched on | 10 |
"Coming when switched on" means the feature is built but Pastefront hasn't turned on the outside service it needs yet. Until then its page in your dashboard says it isn't switched on yet, and it costs nothing.
Plan credits and top-ups
- Each paid plan adds its credits every month: 150 credits on Starter, 500 credits on Pro, 1,500 credits on Scale.
- Plan credits you don't use roll over for one month, then expire.
- Top-ups are 50 credits for $15 (30¢ a credit), on any plan. Top-up credits and your 25 sign-up credits don't expire.
- Billing isn't open yet, so plans and top-ups can't be bought today.
- Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred, and aren't refunded, apart from the automatic return when an action fails.
Saver, the lower-cost option
Coming when switched on. Saver runs chat edits and ad copy on a lower-cost AI model instead of Claude. Store builds and the claims check always stay on Claude.
- Chat edits
- Free on Saver, up to 10 per store in any 24 hours. After that, Standard edits still work at 1 credit each.
- Ad sets
- 2 credits on Saver instead of 5, and refunded if it fails, the same as Standard.
- Same rules
- The same plans, the same claims check and the same preview before anything goes live.
- Until it's on
- Every edit and ad set runs on Standard, and the Saver choice doesn't show.
