Refunds, chargebacks and fees

Who pays Stripe's fees, who carries refunds and chargebacks, and what Pastefront collects from a sale.

Your store is the seller

  • Buyers pay through your store's own Stripe account. Your store is the seller and the merchant of record.
  • Your store pays Stripe's processing fees: they come out of each sale.
  • Refunds, disputes and chargebacks are charged to your store's Stripe balance. You make refunds from your own Stripe Dashboard.
  • Your refund and returns policy is yours. Your store's policy pages are generated from the facts you set, like your returns window.

What Pastefront collects from a sale

Pastefront's cut
0% of your sales. Pastefront earns from plans and credit top-ups; the one exception is the Printify margin below.
CJ products
The supplier's cost and shipping estimate for that order are collected from each sale, so Pastefront can pay CJ for it.
AliExpress products
Nothing is collected. You pay AliExpress yourself when you place the order.
Printify products
Coming when switched on. On Pastefront's Printify account, the production cost plus 25% and Printify's shipping; on your own account, nothing.

Refunding a CJ order

  • If you refund a CJ sale in full before Pastefront has paid CJ for it, the supplier cost collected is returned to your Stripe balance, and Pastefront doesn't pay CJ for the order.
  • Once CJ has been paid, the supplier cost is not returned. The refund to the buyer still comes from your Stripe balance.
  • A price below the supplier's cost and shipping can't be used at checkout.
