How a build works
From a pasted link to a store you can preview, and the claims check every word goes through.
The steps
- 1. Paste a link
- A CJ Dropshipping or AliExpress product link. Pastefront reads the listing (title, photos, options and cost) and, for CJ, asks for a shipping quote. Importing it costs 3 credits.
- 2. The safety check
- Before anything is charged, the product is checked against what Pastefront won't sell. If it's refused, you see why and nothing is charged.
- 3. Brand questions
- Pick a voice, colors, fonts and your target margin (20% to 70%, 50% unless you change it), or let Claude choose.
- 4. The build
- Claude names the store, writes the home page and the product page from the listing, and Pastefront prices it so your margin covers the supplier's cost, shipping, a duty estimate and Stripe's card fee. It costs 40 credits, except your first build, which is free.
- 5. The claims check
- Every line of the new store is checked before you see it. More on that below.
- 6. Preview
- The store opens at its own pastefront.com address, visible only to you, until you put it live.
Builds wait in a queue when many are running at once; Scale's builds start first. If a build fails or is cut off, its credits come back by themselves.
What Pastefront won't sell
Weapons, drugs, cannabis and CBD, tobacco and vapes, supplements and products that make health claims, medical devices, adult products, branded, designer or licensed-character goods and look-alikes, hazardous items, and children's products that need safety certification or have known safety hazards. Stripe's own list of prohibited businesses applies too. A product getting past the automatic check doesn't make it allowed.
Some products are allowed but come with US rules: children's products and jewelry, cosmetics, radio devices like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi gadgets and drones, lithium batteries, food-contact items and eyewear. For those, the import or build stops before any charge, shows what applies with links to the official pages, and goes ahead once you tick a box saying you've seen it. Selling them within the rules stays your job.
The claims check
Every word Pastefront writes for a store is checked for claims the store can't back up. It looks for:
- reviews, ratings, stars, customer counts and best-seller talk, which a new store doesn't have;
- urgency or scarcity: stock left, hurry, limited time, countdowns;
- delivery promises, shipping terms and where it ships from;
- health, medical, weight-loss and anti-aging claims;
- guarantees, warranties, free returns and money-back terms the store hasn't set;
- discounts or sale prices;
- other brands, trademarks and characters.
A flagged line is rewritten once. Anything still wrong is cut or replaced with plain text, and a version that still has a flagged claim can't be put live. The same check runs on chat edits, the email popup's headline and ad copy.
Changing it afterwards
On a paid plan, describe a change in plain words. Each chat edit costs 1 credit, you see the new version in a preview before it goes live, and every change can be undone.
